Listener letter: decision making and self-doubt
Show Notes

We’ve got something a little different this week - I’m thrilled to have a few letters coming in from you folks and these are both related to self-doubt and decision making. Thank you so much for trusting me with your questions! I just want to re- assure all my listeners who are grappling with a specific decision like my listener Rosie, or you resonate with Mel’s overthinking and second-guessing, it’s really understandable ( and you’ve come to the right episode!)

So what’s this episode really about?

  • I describe the wider perspective of how self-doubt gets all caught up with our decision making.
  • I directly answer my listener Rosie’s question - ‘how do I know the difference between self-doubt and what is really wrong for me?’
  • I offer up my Top Tips for making a decision when self-doubt is getting in the way.
  • I talk about the differences between pre-emptive failure and ‘clean’ failure.

Why you should listen
Our culture LOVES certainty, so of course, we all value clarity. When self-doubt gets all tangled up in our decision making, it cuts us off from self-trust. Cultivating self-trust is a skill we can develop! We value our own intellect and intuition - we practice discernment. Once we grow our capacity for self-trust, we can see that we have our own back, no matter what. We don’t have to wait until we know more, or wait for approval from others, we can just make choices based on what we know, even with all that uncertainty. In this episode I’ll help you take the first steps to developing those skills.
